Description

Learn to make the best BBQ chicken using a Dutch oven or crockpot. Perfect for family dinners, meal prep, and make-ahead freezer meals.

Ingredients

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or swap for thighs/drumsticks if you prefer!)

2 cups BBQ sauce (spicy or sweet—your choice!)

1/2 cup Italian dressing (adds a zesty twist).

1/2 cup brown sugar

2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

Dutch Oven Method

Prep the Oven: Preheat your oven to 325°F.

Season the Chicken: Place the chicken in your Dutch oven.

Mix the Sauce: Combine BBQ sauce, Italian dressing, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl. Pour the mixture over the chicken.

Bake It: Cover the Dutch oven and pop it into the oven for 1hr – 1hr 15min. For crispy edges, uncover during the last 15 minutes.

Shred and Serve: Once cooked, shred the chicken with two forks, mix it back into the sauce, and serve immediately.

Crockpot Method

Prep the Crockpot: Line it with a bag (for easy cleanup!) and add the chicken.

Add the Sauce: Pour the BBQ mixture over the chicken.

Cook: Set on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.

Shred It Up: Use two forks to shred the chicken, then mix it back into the sauce.

Notes

Serving Idea: Pile the shredded chicken onto warm Hawaiian rolls with melty mozzarella and mayo, or spoon it over fluffy baked potatoes for ultimate comfort food vibes.
