Our second day in New York City kicked off with Bryant Park. Nestled amidst the bustling city, Bryant Park offers a tranquil oasis adorned with lush greenery, iconic sculptures, and a picturesque atmosphere that sets the perfect tone for the day ahead.
Bryant Park, located in Midtown Manhattan, is a well-loved urban sanctuary that has become a favorite among both locals and tourists. With its meticulously manicured lawns, inviting seating areas, and seasonal events, Bryant Park offers a space for relaxation, cultural activities, and community engagement. Its central location and vibrant ambiance make it a beloved spot for New Yorkers and visitors alike to escape the city’s hustle and bustle.
There are lots of great food options within Bryant Park, and this morning we decided to venture to the Crepe Cafe for a delightful breakfast. Our taste buds were in for a treat with the Hell’s Kitchen Crepe – a mouthwatering creation filled with succulent steak, earthy mushrooms, creamy mozzarella, and a delightful kick from the sriracha teriyaki sauce. The blend of flavors and textures in this dish was an explosion of culinary delight.
As the aroma of freshly brewed coffee wafted through the air, we made our way to Blue Bottle coffee, conveniently located across the street. The smooth, velvety coffee was the perfect companion to our breakfast, providing a warm and satisfying start to the day.
After equipping ourselves with a nice warm beverage, we took to the streets and enjoyed the sites along the way. Eventually taking the subway to the Lower East Side of Manhattan for a tasty lunch!
Our lunch at Ivan Ramen was a culinary journey that left a lasting impression. Known for its authentic and innovative approach to ramen, it’s no wonder this is a favorite among locals and visitors.
Daikon XO Appetizer:
To kick off the feast, we indulged in the Daikon XO appetizer. This dish showcased the art of combining flavors and textures. Daikon radish, a staple in Japanese cuisine, was elevated to new heights with the umami-rich XO sauce, creating a harmonious blend of sweet, savory, and spicy.
Japanese Fried Chicken:
Next up was the Japanese Fried Chicken, a delightful twist on a classic favorite. Crispy and succulent, each bite was a burst of flavor. The delicate seasoning and expert frying technique made this dish an instant hit.
Tonkotsu Ramen:
The main event, the Tonkotsu Ramen, was a bowl of comfort and depth. The creamy, pork-based broth was simmered to perfection, resulting in a rich and velvety texture. Paired with chewy noodles, tender pork slices, and traditional toppings, this ramen was an ode to authenticity.
Tsukemen:
Our culinary adventure continued with the Tsukemen – a unique ramen experience where noodles are served separately for dipping. The concentrated dipping broth intensified the flavors, creating a sensory journey with every bite.
